MIA KHALIFA has warned women against choosing the porn industry as a career, despite her fame. Mia got her fame from acting in adult videos while she was younger.
Mia Khalifa has warned women against giving up their 9-to-5 for a life in porn.
At one point, Mia Khalifa was one of the biggest names in the adult industry, but since stepping away, she has been very vocal about its inner workings.
Khalifa has highlighted some of the issues she experienced and the overall regret she had for getting into the business.
She went on to say that the videos that she did record will ‘haunt me until I die’.
The 31-year-old has said she only made 11 films when she was 21, but the scenes play on her mind on a daily basis, and she doesn’t want other women to go through that.
On Instagram back in 2020, Khalifa shared a video of herself looking dejected and added the caption: “That hourly dissociative attack from remembering hundreds of millions of people’s only impression of you is solely based on the lowest, most toxic, most uncharacteristic three months of your life when you were 21.”
She explained the caption further, explained her regret, and warned against other women getting into the porn industry.
“Those 11 videos will haunt me until I die, and I don’t want another girl to go through that—because no one should.
“Long story short: don’t do porn. And if you do, don’t do it with a company. Do it for yourself, on your own terms.
“And if you consume porn, make sure it’s ethical and not from giant corporations that profit off exploiting women. Like your groceries, shop local and direct from the creators.”
Over the years, Khalifa has continued to give both sexual and relationship advice online, either through her own social media pages or on podcasts.
Last year, the former pornstar did catch flack for her comments on marriage.
Khalifa has been married twice, with her first marriage being to her high school boyfriend in 2011 and her second marriage being to chef Robert Sandberg, but the pair split after two years together.
In a video, she said, “We are not stuck with these people. Marriage is not a sanctimonious thing. It is paperwork.
“It is a commitment you make to someone, but if you feel like you’re not getting anything from that commitment and you’re trying, you got to go.
“You got to go. You have to go.”
However, some people remarked that marriage should be taken seriously and requires work from both parties to be made work, and divorce should be treated as a well-thought-out decision.
Khalifa replied to her critics and questioned why she had caught flack for ‘telling young women that if they are in relationships that are unhealthy and toxic’, that they should leave them.
